Great home care starts with the people providing it. Families want to know that the caregiver entering their loved one’s home feels prepared, supported, respected, and committed to making a meaningful difference.

CaringPeople’s 2026 Caregiver Engagement Survey offers a look at that experience directly from our caregivers.

From training, care plans, and communication to leadership and client impact, the results show what caregivers value about being part of CaringPeople and how a strong caregiving team can help create a better experience for the families we serve.

What Our 2026 Caregiver Engagement Survey Revealed

Our third annual Caregiver Engagement Survey gave our caregivers the opportunity to share their experiences and tell us what is working well.

Client Impact received the highest score across all survey questions, earning 4.57 out of 5 with 96% positive feedback.

This is particularly meaningful because making a positive difference in clients’ lives is at the heart of home care. As one caregiver shared, “The best feeling is knowing you make a difference in someone’s life.”

Training and Preparation Set Caregivers Up for Success

Caregivers need the right knowledge and preparation to feel confident in the care they provide. In our survey, Orientation & Training scored 4.42 out of 5, with 93.4% positive feedback.

Caregivers specifically highlighted their experiences with orientation, ongoing education, and opportunities to strengthen their skills.

Comments included “Orientation was phenomenal” and “Good teachings to improve our skills.”

Caregivers also expressed appreciation for continued in-service training through Caring People University.

Access to information is another important part of feeling prepared. Resources & Information received a score of 4.22 out of 5, with 86.6% positive feedback.

Providing caregivers with clear information and useful resources helps them approach their responsibilities with greater confidence and gives them the support they need as client needs evolve.

Communication and Support Make a Difference

Caregiving is personal work, and caregivers should know that they have a responsive team behind them when questions or concerns arise.

Leadership & Communication earned a score of 4.32 out of 5, with 89.2% positive feedback. Caregivers noted that staff respond to concerns, return calls promptly, and listen when changes may be needed.

One caregiver shared that the company “always gets back to me fairly quickly,” while another praised staff for “answering calls promptly and respectfully.”

That communication helps create a stronger connection between caregivers and the wider care team.

Building a Culture of Respect, Recognition, and Compassion

Survey responses highlighted respect and dignity, with caregivers noting the support they receive from the organization.

One caregiver said, “They treat staff with respect and support when needed,” while another shared that CaringPeople has “an ear to listen.”

Recognition was another recurring theme. Caregivers spoke positively about being encouraged to do their best, receiving confidence from their administrators, and working for an organization that values compassionate care for both employees and clients.

This is also reflected in our Advocacy & Loyalty score of 4.32 out of 5, with 89.4% positive feedback.

Perhaps most importantly, caregivers connected this supportive culture directly to CaringPeople’s client care mission.

As one respondent shared, “I appreciate that CaringPeople values compassionate care and supports both employees and clients.”
